Just awesome!!
Dogs Name: Maddie

Nikki's virtual classes and 1-2-1 virtual sessions have been an absolute lifesaver for us this year. Maddie came to live with us (age 2) in February with so much baggage! Everything made her anxious inside the house and she had almost no experience outside the house so was everything there was overwhelming too and she would react by pulling to the point of choking, barking and lunging at anything, especially other dogs! We knew we needed help big time but then the world went into lockdown. Luckily we discovered Nikki who came to the rescue with some virtual 1:1 sessions first and she was just so positive and gave great advice (via zoom!) that it gave us the courage to keep going! I honestly am not sure what we would have done or where we would be without her!

With great advice from Nikki, Maddie began to trust us and gain more confidence and so we decided to join in with virtual classes too! They have been a total lockdown lifesaver! Through the games based training, Maddie and I have learnt so much! We now do an Obedience class (great fun and nothing at all like the "old style" obedience classes I once attended with my first dog), a fitness class, Game on and Young Dogs as well as some themed workshops, all via Zoom! There's even virtual agility and tricks class - I just need more hours in the week to fit everything in! Everything we have learned (and are still learning 8 months on) has enabled me to gain Maddie's trust and focus on me so that when we head outside (which is slowly becoming less overwhelming for her!) she is calmer and more manageable but has also given me the tools to keep her active, entertained and happy at home and in the garden too!

Even without lockdown, I would still absolutely recommend virtual classes especially for an anxious or "reactive" dog. In person classes with other dogs would have been too much for Maddie, but we have been able to learn things much more quickly as we are already in her comfort zone (the living room!)

Virtual classes are really easy and simple - and I'm not very technically minded! But on top of that they are so much fun ! Nikki makes it a very relaxed atmosphere so you can ask questions, share experiences and problems with everyone and have a laugh too! There is a great community of people there (and in the facebook group) and everyone's at a different stage in their dog training journey but this makes it great, because you can learn from each other as well as commiserate (or laugh) with each other when things dont go to plan!

I would recommend On the Ball classes and Nikki's training to anyone!

On The Ball are FABULOUS
Dogs Name: Ronnie

On The Ball has become a big part of my life and I couldn’t be happier about it! Nikki and her gorgeous team of dogs work tirelessly to provide the most fun, exciting sessions and it is so clear to see how happy, healthy and engaged any dog that crosses her path can become.

Before collecting our Sprocker puppy, Ronnie. I asked in a local Facebook group about puppy classes or dog trainers and carers in the area. Nikki's name and company were the clear leaders in their field and after meeting them, becoming friends with the most wonderful team and enjoying every aspect of training that they offer, I can 100% see why.

I was invited to spectate at a puppy class, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Nikki’s game based training was a breath of fresh air after reading numerous books and watching countless videos, trying to get ahead ready for our new arrival. I was instantly hooked and decided to attend a few more sessions to see what else the On the Ball team had to offer. Their agility classes, gun dog classes and obedience masterclasses all offer a variety of games based skills that you and your dog can use in SO many situations.

I’ve since started puppy sessions with Ronnie and I am astounded at how quickly he has progressed. He is calm and restful when he needs to be, and inquisitive and playful with everyone he meets. I am so excited about the future with On The Ball and couldn’t recommend them highly enough. I have seen Nikki work with a variety of dogs- the naughty and the nice- and her positive methods are really a force to be reckoned with!

Thank you. So much!

Turning our struggles into strengths!!
Dogs Name: Sherlock

Nikki is exactly what I needed. Why? Because not only is she a fantastic dog trainer, she’s a brilliant human coach too!! I’ve come to realise that training your dog is just as much about your development and learning as theirs, and Nikki can help you with both. To date, I have now invested in eight 1-2-1s with Nikki during my journey with Sherlock, because the proof is in the pudding and her teaching works.

First thing is, she will set you completely at ease, you know you’re in a safe pair of hands. Then she will help you identify which struggles to work on first and explain clearly and simply the best games and management skills to use to help your dog learn. You will learn how to deliver training in a fun and effective way that will have the wonderful effect of also boosting your relationship with your dog and deepening your bond. She’ll also help you develop a lesson plan so that you can continue the learning at home. Your dog will soon begin to make good decisions all by themselves.

Nothing is ever too much, no question is silly, it’s safe to open up emotionally. I’ve cried quite a few times in my sessions with Nikki when discussing raising Sherlock, because having a naughty but nice dog is hard. She will talk through the struggles with you, reassure you, boost your optimism and help you find solutions. She’s got your back!!

Nikki is so invested in her students, she so wants you to succeed and see you and your dog flourishing. For her, the lesson doesn’t stop when the student goes home. She’s always turning it over in her mind, trying to think of new ideas to suggest. And she’s always there to support you if you need it. She will teach you how to turn your struggles into strengths in a fun way, helping you both reach your potential, what more could you ask for?

121 Session
Dogs Name: Elvis

Dozens of hours watching YouTube videos, various shows on dog experts, reading books, researching websites; yet I still learnt more about dogs in my 1 hour 121 session with Nikki.

Friendly, interesting and insightful. Elvis loved his session and we're both equally excited to start our puppy training classes 🙂

If you're new to dog training like me, I couldn't highly recommend Nikki's services enough.

Pup2Perfection
Dogs Name: Brutus

After losing our cocker spaniel dog of 15 years we were firmly of the belief that we could never replace him with another dog. After many months we felt the need to fill the void and in a moment of madness purchased another working cocker spaniel puppy. From the outset we knew it would be a huge challenge to train this dog. Having read the 5 star reviews of 'On the Ball' we knew we had to enrol . The first three weeks seemed daunting, by the fourth week it was evident that the training from Nikki and Matt was paying dividends, Brutus responded very well to all the new tasks and subsequently was awarded the coveted bandana for the most improved pup in the class. Needless to say we were delighted. It is our intention to attend further training classes with Nikki and Matt as we feel Brutus has so much more to offer. We cannot recommend the Puppy training course highly enough. Nikki and Matt's knowledge in this field is beyond question and we cannot thank them enough not only for the training but for the ongoing support and reassurance received during the six week training programme. Our sincere thanks to Nikki, Matt and the team.

The shape of success
Dogs Name: ROXY

We first enrolled on a puppy class in January not really knowing what to expect, what we got was so much more. Nikki and her team are really in a word awesome !!. The training knowledge and reassurance has led to ROXY becoming the dog that she is. Nikki has a
natural ability of delivering her presentations in classes, this shows in her business too as nothing is too much trouble, being flexible with the home service that is provided when we are at work. From 11 weeks Roxy has received the best care from on the ball team, we have also been shown that care too . On the ball team has shaped us as dog owners to be successful in achieving the best outcome for Roxy - Nikki and Mat are excellent trainers full of knowledge, tips and guidance. We have a way to go with Roxy as she is only nine months old but what we have achieved up to now with 1:1 training sessions has been phenomenal!! this would not have been possible without your attentive service. So a massive thank you , to Nikki, Matt and Elaine for all your hard work and friendship - Denise Steve Roxy x
May the shaping continue👍😀

From pup to perfection
Dogs Name: Sherbert

I first met Nikki and the On the Ball team when Sherbert an 8 week old working cocker puppy landed in our lives. We joined the pup2perfection course and really enjoyed it. Lots of valuable advice mixed in with fun games to play with your puppy that take you through the different stages of development. We loved it so much that we joined the Life Skills class and are now learning all about agility and obedience in weekly lessons. Sherbert is now 20 months and as he grows we are faced with challenges that living with a working breed give but Nikki is always on hand to talk us through them with up to date concepts and methods with the dog's well being always at the heart of it all. We look forward to the workshops and seminars which are delivered with enthusiasm, passion, optimism and fun. We always leave our lessons with a smile and confidence that we are doing all the right things. Whether you have a puppy or older dog I can't recommend On the Ball enough for dog care and training, I can't imagine not having the team in our lives, thank you Nikki, Matt and Elaine from Sherbert and me.

From Naughty to Nice
Dogs Name: Tyro

Nikki has become like a member of the family since joining my smart but anxious and naughty 2 year old Labrador and I on our journey. Nikki has not only helped my dog but me also. Nikki walks Tyro whilst I'm at work but more than that she is our saviour and trainer after we enrolled on her 1-2-1 Naughty but Nice training programme. We continue to attend the mix array of clinics that she runs and we are very much enjoying the group of people and dogs we are meeting along the way. Without Nikki my dog would still be making bad choices, be snappy and untouchable but with her help I now have a cuddly, loveable and more socialable dog. Our journey has only just begun but I have seen such a difference in such a short space of time. I know with Nikki and her team being on board I can worry less and enjoy the ride! If you have a Naughty but Nice dog, feel a little lost with what to do or are feeling lonely out walking alone because your dog just doesn't want to be around other dogs then Nikki and On-the-Ball are the team for you. Pick up that phone and make that call. You will not regret it.

Miracles do happen!
Dogs Name: Luna!

We first had Nikki visit us for 1:1 training with Luna nearly 2 years ago. Luna was a rescue and had missed that crucial stage of learning at a year old and had picked up some bad habits.
Nikki gave us the tools to help Luna learn new ways and we continued to teach her. Then in February this year we called Nikki back to help us walk Luna due to our heavy work commitments. Nikki noticed straight away the progress Luna had made and continued to support her by introducing her to her own dog Strike and reinforcing the training.

At the beginning of this month we decided to take Luna to her first ever dog show, a massive social event for her with lots of people, noises, smells and of course dogs! We were slightly apprehensive about it at first but thought we should give it a go..... And she was an absolute star!! She went on to win prettiest bitch and overall best in show!! Such a proud moment. She socialised so well with all the other doggies and maintained her manners throughout.

Superb results! So thank you again On The Ball Dog Care, your hard work, commitment and passion really does come through. x

AMAZING
Dogs Name: Jeremy

I can't recommend these guys enough! Jeremy came to me as a bit of a surprise/shock, I had absolutely no idea what I was meant to do with such a huge responsibility!
Luckily for us the On The Ball team were on hand to help me. Not only with general questions but also training, care, advise and the right food for him.
He hasn't been the easiest dog to train being a beagle however I can honestly say with the support I have had from On The Ball he is now my absolute world and turning into a great companion!
We first did the Pup-To-Perfection 8 week course which really helped us to work on understanding dog training and giving me more training than jeremy which is just what I needed.
After completing this course we went on to Intermediate life skills which helped us to carry on with all the training and progress.
Both of us are now very much looking forward to starting agility and advanced life skills.
If it wasn't for having Nikki and her family on hand I can honestly say I don't think I would still have Jeremy but they have shown me what an amazing dog he can be and how addictive and rewarding dog training is. Im planning to go away at the end of June and Im so pleased that I can rely on using their services to take care of Jeremy instead of putting him into kennels.
Love you guys and thank you so much for your constant support and passion.
xx
